New St Ninians Lower School, Bemahague
ES Consulting have provided Building Engineering Consultancy Services on the New St Ninians Lower School (Isle of Man), a brand-new facility for 800 students (eventually rising to 1100) located in Onchan, Douglas, Isle of Man.
The Project is currently in its second year of construction, with opening due by September 2012, and incorporates the following:
- Underfloor heating.
- Ground Source Heat Pumps.
- Heat Recovery Heating and Cooling for Library, Dance Studio, Dining and Lecture Theatre areas.
- Category 5 Water for Specialist Lab Processes
- Local Heat Recovery Ventilation to Building Bulletins
- Hydrotherapy Pool Facilities with Heat Recovery Ventilation
- Solar Hot Water infrastructure
- High Efficiency/Frequency light fittings and absence detection
- Soft start inverter controlled electric motors
- Front-End Building Management monitoring software
In addition the school boasts one of Europe's largest Ground Source Heat Pump Installations, providing 200kW to Underfloor Heating from Horizontal Ground Collectors and arranged as a biavalent system with Gas Boiler back-up.
