Holcombe Moor HQ and Training Centre
Holcombe Moor HQ and Training Centre sits on land previously occupied by Nissen Huts to the south of the Krypton Factor course in Bury. The Brief was to provide:
- Sleeping accommodation for 200 people.
- Meeting and Dining facilities for 120 people.
- Headquarters Facilities for the Army Cadet Force in the North-West of England.
The project was to be located within an area of Special Scientific Interest, requiring careful attention to airborne plant noise. Additionally, two of the three buildings on site are served by Renewables, one by ground source and the other by air source heat pumps.
ES Consulting designed and oversaw the provision of a full Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Installation, including:
- Boosted Cold Water (to guard against previously experienced Mains Pressure problems).
- Hot and Cold Water.
- Kitchen Ventilation.
- LPHW Heating via Underfloor and Convectors.
- Ground Source Heat Pumps
- Air Source Heat Pumps
- Local Heat Recovery
- Soft Start Inverter Controlled Electric Motors
- High Efficiency/Frequency Controlled Light Fittings with Absence detection.
- Front End Building Management monitoring software.
