The University of Bolton - T5 Project
The University of Bolton have a strong reputation in the fields of Photography, Audio Visual and Graphic Arts, Textiles and Fine Arts, and wished to further enhance it with the construction of a dedicated facility.
This completed facility provided:
- Specialist Audio Visual areas including 2 Television Studios and highly sound-insulated recording/post-production rooms.
- Graphic Art rooms with integrated Presentation facilities.
- Specialist Photographic labs suitable for a wide range of Photographic processes.
- Computer suites to house the high-end AppleMac G5s, provided with a high-speed data network.
The 5th floor of their Eagle Tower Building was previously a shell, and ES Consulting were appointed for full consulting duties in the provision of a full Building Services Installation including Category 5 Water, Heat Recovery Cooling and Heating, Specialist Extraction and General Air Handling.
The requirement for high levels of Sound Isolation and minimising of plant noise was established early on in the Project, and the client's brief was developed to high levels of user satisfaction.
In addition the fitting out of T5 and the Refurbishment of T4 coincided with the Design and Construction of a New Passenger/Fire Evacuation Lift (complete with Standby Power Generation).
